Nathanial T. Followell Sentenced To Probation

Nathanial T. Followell, 20, of Altamont was sentenced in Effingham County Circuit Court to 30 months probation Monday by Judge Kimberly Koester.

Followell admitted in April he left the scene of an accident on Moccasin Road in January after fatally striking William J. Coleman, 40, of Beecher City. Followell also was fined $2,500 and ordered to pay $4,978.75 to Coleman's family for his share of funeral expenses. Followall was ordered to serve an additional 38 days in the Effingham County Jail. He is receiving credit for 142 days time served in a 180 day sentence.

Followell also was ordered to non-electronic home confinement for six months after his release from jail as well as be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Judge Koester ordered Follwell not to operate a motor vehicle during his period of probation.
