The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce recognized Effingham Dairy Queen as the June Chamber Member of the Month at the Chamber’s First Friday Luncheon.

In 1999, Tom Henderson, Brian Wick and Hank Stephens purchased the local Dairy Queen and through the years, their efforts have been rewarded with increasing sales and employment opportunities.  A major remodeling project is planned this Fall to further enhance the overall image and quality of service of the restaurant.

Effingham Dairy Queen has been recognized by American Dairy Queen and Children’s Miracle Network as one of the top Dairy Queens in the region in support of their annual CMN fundraising event, which has raised over $7,500, making the store a Gold Member of the Miracle Million Club.

Owners and employees are a major sponsor of the Unit 40 Mentoring Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Relay for Life.  They donate thousands of dilly bars each year to area events and support many other youth programs.  They also take leadership roles in many community facilities and organizations.

As active Chamber members, Dairy Queen has been a sponsor of the EffingHAM-JAM, serves on the Chamber Legislative Committee and utilize Chamber-sponsored training programs to develop their workforce skills.
