VWs Invade Downtown Effingham

Some 230 Volkswagens of various shapes, sizes and models invaded downtown Effingham as part of the VF Welcome Fest Friday evening. The downtown celebration served as a kickoff to Mid America Motorworks' 18th Annual Funfest for Air-Cooled VWs. 

The local Shrine Unit served as the advance unit for the VWs.

Mike and Laurie Yager of Mid America Motorworks served as the parade marshals.

Wasn't it a chartreuse microbus that they talked about in the song "Convoy"?

A variety of VW vehicles were part of the procession Friday.

There were dune buggies in town, too!
