Man Arrested After Incident in Homewood Subdivision

An Effingham man was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm after an incident Monday morning in Homewood Subdivision.

Effingham City Police received a report of a disturbance at 701 South Glenwood at 10:14am, and police were told that there were weapons involved. Officers responded and had weapons drawn, but the suspect surrendered without further incident. No shots were fired, and no one was injured.

The suspect is 48-year-old Michael G. Sarver.

Aggravated assault with a firearm is a Class 4 felony, punishable by up to one to three years in prison.
