The weeklong manhunt for Dracy "Clint" Pendleton has ended with his death.

Pendleton was accused of shooting and wounding a Mahomet police officer during an altercation the night of May 7. He fled the area, but was believed to be in hiding in Shawnee National Forest.

Just after midnight Sunday, Pendleton was observed by an Illinois State Police SWAT running through the woods while armed with a rifle and a bandolier. At about 5am, Pendelton opened fire from an abandoned house. A FBI SWAT Operator was shot and injured. An exchange of gunfire followed. Police sent a remote controlled robot into the house and discovered Pendleton dead.
