Authorities are still seeking a man believed to have shot a police officer in Mahomet over the weekend.

35-year-old Dracy "Clint" Pendleton was stopped for a traffic violation in Mahomet on Saturday evening. The situation escalated and Pendleton shot a Mahomet police officer in the arm. The officer returned fire and it's believed his shot struck Pendleton.

Pendleton is believed to be armed with an AK-47. He was last spotted at about 9:15am Monday wearing a black shirt, camouflage pants, and boots.

The Champaign County State's Attorney's Office has issued an arrest warrant for Pendleton on a charge of aggravated battery with a firearm. Pendleton's bond has been set at $5 million. He's described as a white male, 35 years old, 5'10" and 155, with blue eyes and blonde hair. He has shaved his beard and trimmed his hair.

Pendleton might also be walking with a limp due to a prior unrelated knee injury.

Anyone with information is encouraged to phone the Illinois State Police at 618-542-1483, or dial 9-1-1.
