"The Power of LEAN".

That was the topic at the May Chamber First Friday Luncheon. The effort is to clear out of our workplaces, even our homes, those things that encumber us and aren't of any real benefit to us.

A workshop is going to be presented on the topic in late June at the Keller Convention Center. A nationally-known expert on going lean will be the presenter and some local companies that have already been through the process will share their experiences and the benefits of the effort.

Charlie Bovard of Hospital Sisters Health System made the presentation, and mentioned that companies like Waupaca Foundry, Stevens Industries and HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital are among the companies who've been through the LEAN training in Effingham.
