Four people were injured in a crash south of Effingham Wednesday evening.

The crash happened at 6:31pm on 1050th Road, just west of 1525th Street in Watson Township. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a SUV driven by 27-year-old Chelsea Oakley of Effingham ran off the road after hitting loose gravel. The vehicle became airborne after it struck a ditch and then struck a power pole with the roof of the unit. The unit spun around before coming to rest.

Oakley was injured but refused treatment, as was the case with a passenger, 32-year-old Joseph Lustig of Effingham. Two other passengers, 37-year-old Kerry Townley of Effingham and 29-year-old Brock Miller of Hidalgo, were injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Oakley was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the accident.
