Effingham resident Zachary Durbin has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine precursors.

Other counts lodged against the 29-year-old Durbin; those of burglary, theft, and possession of meth manufacturing materials; were dismissed as part of the negotiated plea agreement.

In addition to the prison time, Durbin will be on mandatory supervised release for two years once he is out of prison. He must also pay fines along with restitution totaling three thousand dollars.

Durbin was originally charged last July.
