Injury Crash on Interstate at Vandalia

A Vandalia man was injured in a crash on I-70 outside that city Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at 3pm and involved a car driven by 55-year-old Terry Whitsell. State police say Whitsell's car ran off the roadway into the median, struck a sign, then overturned.

Whitsell was injured and was taken to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia for treatment. Whitsell was cited for DUI, illegal transportation of liquor, no insurance, driving too fast to avoid the crash, improper lane usage, and not wearing a seatbelt.
