A farm implement and car collided Monday morning in Clay County.

State police report the crash occurred just after 9:30am four miles south of Clay City on Big Four Road. A farm implement driven by 47-year-old William Keith Harvel of Clay City was traveling east on Day Flower Lane, while the car driven by 35-year-old Lawrence Ewing of Fairfield was northbound on Big Four Road.

Police say the farm implement ran a stop sign and pulled into the path of the car, which went under the front of the farm implement. Both units came to rest in a ditch on the northeast corner of the intersection.

Harvel was not injured, but Ewing was injured and was taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora, then was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Harvel was cited for failure to yield and for disobeying a stop sign.
