Unit 40 Board Acts on Personnel Moves

Effingham Unit 40 school board members Monday acted on a series of personnel moves.

Several people were hired for the 2016-17 school year. They include Susan Greene-Young to teach Science and Technology at the junior high; Morgan Healy to teach Scienece at the high school; Michelle Jansen to teach Math at the high school; Austin Stout to teach Music at Southside; Stacey Zerrusen to teach Art at the junior high; Andrea Davis to work as a nurse paraprofessional; and Kelsey Ericksen to teach Special Education.

The Board also hired summer workers, including Deb Blankenship, Liz Budde, Michael Carie, Katrina Eirhart, Teresa Fuesting, Joshua Kinder, Sue Kinkelaar, Darlene Krietemeyer, Kerri Krischel, Peggy Manley, Megan McDonald, Weston Peno, Diane Tieffel, and Benjamin Sporleder, with one more person to be hired.

Board members named Lee Althoff boys tennis coach for the current season, and accepted his resignation as assistant high school soccer coach, as well as Arlene Adamson's resignation as cafeteria monitor at Southside.

Leaves of absence were approved for Sue Ahten, Kristin Runde, Kathy Peters, Rebecca Miller, Whitney Duncan and Jennifer Seachrist.

Retirements were accepted from teacher Jill Carpenter after the 2018-19 school year, from bus driver Russ Phillips as of the end of the school year, from Les Boothby as junior high custodian as of August 2, and from bus driver Bill Stahl as of the end of the current school year. The Board also approved two transfers of staff; Marisa Ruffner from 3rd grade teacher to 2nd grade teacher at Central, and Nicole McClellan from 1st grade teacher to 2nd grade teacher at Southside.
