2016 National Day of Prayer Set for May 4 in Effingham

Effingham will observe the 2016 National Day of Prayer on Wednesday, May 4.

The event will be highlighted by a prayer breakfast sponsored by a group of Effingham businesspeople. The breakfast will take place at the Keller Convention Center at 7:30am.

Tom Henderson will serve as emcee, Matt Cekander and Tod Lancaster will lead the music, Pastor Tony Munoz will handle the audio/video duties, Lancaster will speak on God's provision during his lengthy battle with illness, and Dr. Nash Naam will serve as guest speaker. Dr. Henry Poterucha will offer the closing prayer. A love offering will be received with proceeds to benefit the Family Life Center.

The program will conclude no later than 9am.

Those attending are asked to obtain a ticket, but the tickets are free. They are available at the studios of 979XFM and KJ Country 102.3 at Fayette and Willow and at Tom Henderson State Farm Insurance office at Jefferson and Section, as well as at Job Match Personnel Services at Jefferson and 3rd. The tickets are utilized to get an accurate count as to how many people will attend.
