Rotary Honors Top Scholars at SAA Banquet

The Effingham Sunrise and Noon Rotary Clubs honored the best and brightest of Effingham and St. Anthony high schools during the annual Society for Academic Achievement Banquet.

SAA awards are presented to the top 5% of the senior, junior and sophomore classes at the two city high schools.

(EFFINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR HONOREES)

(ST. ANTHONY HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR HONOREES)

This year's senior class recipients are Andrew Bingham, Taylor Crowell, Nathaniel Gengler, Ashton Haythorne, Collin Hecht, Drake Hill, Aidan Maloney, Josh McCammon, Jared Minor and Reed Schafer of Effingham High School and Abby Brown, James Kabbes and Allison Spraul of St. Anthony High School.

Junior class recipients are Jacob Bushue, Alexandria Denoyer, Jacob Donaldson, Dustin Gurley, Kayla Herzing, Brett Hodges, Ryan Huelsbusch, Nick Katz, Antonio Munoz, Trent Pearcy, Hannah Pike, Calloway Smith, Harrison Smith, Meredith Wendling, and Grant Wolfe of Effingham High School and Gillian Erickson, Andrew Saba, Kristin Slaughter and Rachel Wortman of St. Anthony High School.

Sophomore Class honorees are Kaylee Allred, Zoe Bridges, Kourtney Cordes, Reilly Durham, Maria Dust, Douglas Fancher, Zach Keitel, Emily Kelly, Bryce Lohman, Grace Lybarger, Will O'Bryan, Jacob Swan, Ryan Sandifer and Claire Webb of Effingham High School and Alex Beesley, Ethan Rozene and Maryann Saba of St. Anthony High School.

HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital President and CEO Theresa Rutherford served as guest speaker.

More than 1,800 awards have been presented to student scholars of the two city high schools since the first banquet in 1968. SAA was established in Quincy in 1959.
