Altamont Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch has announced plans for the district should a support staff strike begin Tuesday.

Fritchtnitch's statement reads: "The Altamont Board of Education is planning for the upcoming collective bargaining session with the AESPA, which has been mutually scheduled by both parties for Monday, April 18, at 7pm at Altamont High School.

"Every contract negotiation process has a resolution and it is the Board's intent to come to a resolution on the outstanding matters with the AESPA. As a result of the AESPA's press release (available elsewhere on the local newspage), the Board and Administration of Altamont CUSD #10 are also finalizing plans in the event that a resolution is not reached on April 18 for a strike to begin as early as Tuesday, April 19. Parents, students and community will be notified by the District's School Messenger (phone notification system), Facebook page, Twitter as well as local radio of the status of school for Tuesday."
