Area Schools Recognized as Bright Star Award Recipients

Several area school districts are being honored as Bright Star Award recipients.

The award, sponsored by the SchoolSearch organization, is based on districts with highest student performance at lowest cost.

The elementary school criteria is the average percentage of those who took the ISAT and the average operating expenditure per pupil, while the secondary school criteria is the ACT composite score of all students tested and the average operating expenditure per pupil.

At the elementary school level, the area honorees are the Teutopolis Unit 50 school district and the Windsor Unit 1 school district.

At the secondary school level, area honorees were North Clay Unit 25 school district, Dieterich Unit 30 school district, and Teutopolis Unit 50 school district.
