Semi and Pickup Collide Near Montrose

Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon when a semi and a pickup truck collided near Montrose.

The crash happened at 3:39pm on I-70 westbound near the Montrose interchange.

State police report a semi driven by 56-year-old William Emerson of Blountville, Tennessee changed lanes and struck the pickup truck, driven by 67-year-old Jerry Griffin of Lebanon, Missouri. The impact caused the semi to run off the roadway and into the median. The pickup truck ran off the roadway, overturned, and stopped upright in the median.

Griffin and his passenger, 66-year-old Jeanette Griffin of Lebanon, Missouri, were injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Emerson was cited for improper lane usage.
