The Dieterich Board of Education Monday finalized end of year dates for the school term.

A change was made in the calendar to reflect use of an emergency day on February 24. The final day of student attendance will now be May 18 with a Teacher Institute on May 19. High school graduation will remain on Sunday, May 15 at 1pm, while junior high promotion will be at 7pm on Wednesday, May 18.

In personnel moves, the Dieterich board hired Gina Campbell as the high school head volleyball coach, and accepted a letter of resignation from district Art teacher Rhiannon Boehm.

The Board renewed membership in the Association of Illinois Rural and Small Schools. The membership allows the district to gain access to grant dollars. The Board renewed membership in the Illinois High School Association, and agreed to continue participation in the South East Purchasing Cooperative, which generates savings on purchase of janitorial and cafeteria and kitchen items.

Board members renewed the catastrophic insurance plan through AIG Benefit Solutions, which covers all sporting and school activities, and agreed to offer voluntary student accident insurance through Guarantee Trust Life. Participation in the insurance is voluntary and is purchased by the parent or the student.
