Vandalia Police Working on Possible Child Abuse Case

Vandalia Police are investigating a possible child abuse case with serious injuries.

Police say the 3 and a half month old child was transported to the Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia on February 18 from a medical facility in Vandalia.

Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the Illinois Child Death Task Force was activated.  The Vandalia Police Department and Child Death Investigation Task Force are actively investigating the incident and working closely with the Fayette County State's Attorney.
