Death of Vandalia Man Due to Natural Causes

The weekend death of a man in Vandalia has been ruled due to natural causes.

A man was found lying in his drive just outside his garage Saturday afternoon. Vandalia police responded to the scene, and they notified Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen. Bowen pronounced the man, identified as 62-year-old Joe Willms, dead at the scene at 4:08pm.

After an investigation, including an autopsy Monday, Bowen determined Willms died of natural causes.
