An Effingham man has been arrested on burglary and other charges.

Effingham city police report 28-year-old Tyler Shoemaker was arrested Tuesday. Todd Ebbert of the city's Investigations Division said Shoemaker is accused of breaking into several vending machines on Monday and Tuesday. Police were phoned by an employee at a local motel that surveillance video indicated a man matching Shoemaker's description had been seen around their vending machines and that the man was back there Tuesday night. Police responded and made the arrest.

In addition to burglary, Shoemaker was arrested on counts of possession of burglary tools, as well as possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
