City Police Investigating Vandalism at Local Parks

Effingham city police are investigating vandalism done over the weekend at Community Park and Evergreen Hollow Park.

Criminal damage was done between 6pm Friday and 2am Saturday.

Damage to a door at Paul Smith Field at Community Park

Police say bathroom doors, roll up doors and walls, as well as park benches, sustained approximately $100 in damage from spray paint. Security light fixtures sustained $600 damage, a display case sustained $50 damage, all trash cans were flipped over, multiple benches were flipped over, a rock was thrown through a screen window, and gutters were damaged.

Spray-painted messages were also on several park items and buildings
