Police Investigating Burglary at Rural King

Effingham city police are investigating a burglary at Rural King.

The burglary occurred at about 1:30am Sunday. Police say someone gained entry to the store by breaking the front glass doors, causing an undetermined amount of damage. It hadn't been determined as of Monday morning whether anything was stolen.

Police are also investigating a theft from a motor vehicle in the 300 block of West Clark. The incident occurred between 12:15am and 8:30am Sunday.

Items believed stolen include multiple ratchet straps, four chains, two tool boxes, miscellaneous hand tools, a hitch, air chucks, multiple fuses, shop towels and an air compressor. The items have a combined value of more than $1,000.
