Teutopolis village board members revisited the issue of hiring a coordinator at their recent meeting.

Ron Probst and Rich Hartke of Teutopolis Citizens for Progress were present to see whether the matter was still being considered. Board members would like to retain someone who would oversee economic development efforts for the village, but the part-time nature of the position could make it tough to fill.

The Board vacated an undeveloped portion of Wall Street that runs through St. Francis Cemetery, and heard a presentation from CEO student Andy Mersman on the upcoming CEO Experience on February 3. The Board agreed to have the Village pay for any member who wishes to attend. Also approved was paying for attendance by Mayor Greg Hess and Clerk Sharon Will at a one-day human relations seminar.

Board members also discussed getting approval for placement of a street light by the new McMahon Meats location along US 40, and discussed replacing some of the village Christmas lights that are showing some wear.
