As of the end of this school year, the Beecher City Eagles and Cowden-Herrick Hornets will be no more. In their place will be the BCCH or CHBC Bobcats.

The two school boards voted earlier to combine their sports teams this year, but things couldn't be finalized in time for this year as far as colors and a mascot. The Cowden-Herrick board approved the Bobcat mascot last month. Students chose the new mascot.

Beecher City Superintendent Scott Cameron said the new Bobcat uniforms will reflect Beecher City's red and Cowden-Herrick's blue along with some white. Cameron said Beecher City will be making some minor cosmetic changes in their gym to reflect the new color scheme.

The Beecher City board also approved an athletic handbook for next school year. The new handbook brings standardization to the grading policy and the discipline policy for both districts so athletes will have the same guidelines regardless of which district they attend.

Cameron said the Board tabled work on parking lots in the north parking lot behind the junior-senior high school building. He said the district wants to improve the lighting in the new lot, but has some drainage issues to address first and some repairs to leaks in the Art room to deal with first.
