A former local resident now living in Tolono has been sentenced to two years in prison for forgery.

Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler said 55-year-old Sandra Watson admitted to using the checkbook of an acquaintance to write checks to herself, forging the man's signature.

Watson must also make restitution of more than $1,000.
