A Teutopolis boy is the 2016 New Year's baby at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Griffey Michael Schumacher was born at 1:08am Friday. Griffey is the son of Derek and Erica Schumacher of Teutopolis. 

Erica Schumacher said Griffey weighed in at eight pounds, eight ounces and measured 20 inches long.

Griffey is the Schumachers' first child.
