She can't tell us how she did, but Newton native Cheyenne Goss confirmed Wednesday that she'll appear on the final season of FOX's "American Idol".

Cheyenne spoke by phone from Nashville, where she is working and going to school. She said she will be on either the January 6 or January 7 show, which will air at 7pm each night.

Cheyenne said she was the first person to audition after a long day of interviews and photo sessions. She said the judges let her know the results right after the audition.

The past KJ Country Showdown contestant said she performed Kelsea Ballerini's song, "Dibs". Of the judges, Cheyenne said, "Harry (Connick, Jr.) was really nice" but also enjoyed meeting Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez.

Cheyenne said a watch party will be held at Parklanes in Newton on both the 6th and the 7th. She's not sure she'll be able to come back for the event, though. "The rent is due", she laughed. "I need to work."
