One Person Injured in Crash South of St. Elmo

One person was injured in a crash south of St. Elmo Saturday evening.

The crash happened in a rural area two miles south of St. Elmo at 6:40pm. A vehicle driven by 20-year-old Kimberly Wells was southbound when it ran off the roadway to the left, ran through a ditch and into a field.

Wells was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. 

Wells was cited for DUI, consumption of alcohol by someone under age 21 and failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
