The Marion County Coroner's Office and Sheriff's Department along the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations unit is looking into the death of a 19-year-old Bond County woman who either fell or jumped from a moving vehicle near Patoka.

Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon identified the victim as Erica Bieber. The Mulberry Grove woman was taken from the scene by ambulance to SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia where she was later pronounced dead. The incident occurred along US 51, two miles south of Patoka, around 1am Saturday.

The driver of the pickup truck involved was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff's Department on a charge of DUI alcohol or drugs. Jail records indicated Ethan Daniels, 25, of Greenville was released after posting $100 bond.

Bieber reportedly was a front seat passenger in the pickup truck.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the exact cause of death.
