Two people were injured in a crash in Jasper County Wednesday night.

The crash happened just after 9pm on Illinois 130, a mile north of Newton near the Illinois 33 junction. State police report a pickup truck driven by 61-year-old David Dhom of Newton skidded across the centerline on an ice-covered bridge deck. The pickup collided with a car driven by a 17-year-old girl from Yale. Police did not release the girl's name.

Both Dhom and the girl were injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Dhom was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
