Effingham physician Nash Naam shared the history of Islam and its presence in today's world with the Effingham Noon Rotary Club meeting on December 2.

Dr. Naam, a native of Egypt, is a Christian, but has many contacts in the Middle East that allow him to stay in touch with efforts by ISIS and others to take over the world stage. He spoke of the beginnings of Islam, the writings of the Koran, and what the religion teaches about how to live and how to deal with those not of the same faith.

Dr. Naam was the guest of Rotary weekly program chairman Ted Keller.

Kyla Burton was the Rotary weekly student guest. Kyla is the daughter of Misty Heath and Tony Burton and is a senior at St. Anthony High School.
