The Effingham County Economic Development Board reviewed existing clients Tuesday while discussing future projects.

Board Chairman Dave Campbell reported that the Board's first loan recipient, CW Motorsports, continues to grow. The business is exploring acquiring neighboring properties for a possible expansion, and is considering whether to add an operation in Altamont.

Meanwhile, most other firms that have received loans are current with their payments, or no more than a week or two behind schedule. There is one exception, but committee members continue to work with the business, which has relocated from Effingham to Teutopolis to operate as a home business for the time being.

Since those receiving loans are staying current with their payments, Campbell expects the amount of available funds to climb past $20,000 by year's end.

Committee members heard that a couple of inquiries have been made about available funds, but no applications have been filed.
