Area Police Report Accidents, Investigations

A theft of a handgun valued at $250 occurred from an apartment in the 200th block of Jaycee in Effingham between October 26 and 5 p.m. November 25.

In other Effingham City Police Department investigations, criminal damage occurred to a property in the 1200th block of South Fourth between 9 p.m. November 25 and 6 a.m. November 26. An exterior door frame sustained approximately $100 damage.

Failure to pay for 17 gallons of fuel, valued at $30.94, occurred from Jumpin Jimmys, 1104 W. Fayette in Effingham November 28 at approximately 5:35 p.m.

Crashes occuring Friday, November 27 --

At 9:06 a.m. at 2500 N. 3rd, a semi driven by Kevin P. Roethlein, 25, Fort Mtichell, Al. backed into a semi driven by jose  E. Gainza, 42, of Hialeah, Fla. No injuries and no citations.

At 10:42 a.m., east of the intersection of Fayette and Maple, a vehicle driven by Christina R. Kuebrich, 39, Vandalia, collided with a vehicle driven by Patricia D. Ramsey, 56, Louisville. No injuries. Kuebrich was ticketed for driving while license revoked.

At 4:21 p.m. at the intersection of Fayette and Fayette Frontage Road, a vehicle driven by Tanner C. Barnes, 19, Shumway, backed into a vehicle driven by Matthew J. Menis, 44, Mode. No injuries. Barnes was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident.

At 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of St. Anthony and Merchant, a vehicle driven by Rosemary A. Westendorf, 62 of Neoga, struck a vehicle driven by Thomas A. Kollman, 42 of Effingham. No injuries and no citations.

Crash occuring Saturday, November 28 --

At 3:05 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson and S. Banker, a vehicle driven by Pamela S. Beck, 65 of Shelbyville, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Tina L. Taylor, 47, of Tolono. No injuries and no citations.

Crash occuring Sunday, November 28 --

At 8:20 p.m. at 1200 W. Fayette, an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Mark Quade of Edgewood. No injuries and no citations at this time.

Crash occuring Monday, November 30 --

At 4:30 a.m., north of the intersection of Keller and the I-57/I-70 ramp, a vehicle driven by Patty L. Witt, 43, of Oconee, sideswiped a vehicle driven by William D. Blake Jr., 53 of Effingham. No injuries and no citations.
