Four Injured in Crash on Route 128

Four people were injured in a crash on Illinois Route 128 just south of Beecher City Sunday evening.

The crash occurred at 5:54pm at Fayette County Road 3050 North. Illinois State Police report a pickup truck driven by 32-year-old Matthew Hites of Effingham pulled onto the highway and struck a car driven by 28-year-old Jamie Schaefer of Altamont. Both units ended up off the roadway and Hites' pickup truck ended up on its side. 

Hites and his passengers, Matthew Hites II and Marcus Hites, were all injured as was Schaefer. All four were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Matthew Hites was cited for disobeying a stop sign.
