Local Tea Party Group Re-Elects Officers

The recent Effingham Area Tea Party meeting saw all officers re-elected for 2016.

The officers include Chairman Todd Slingerland, Secretary David Schaefer, and Treasurer Jane Willenborg. Directors re-elected are Patty Russell, Roger Stevens and Wayne Russell.

A report was given on the recent watchdog training meeting held in Collinsville by Americans for Prosperity. Another report gave examples of the dramatic increases in Obamacare insurance premiums. Members also noted some members' school boards are paying for administrators' dues in social and service clubs at taxpayer expense.

The next Tea Party meeting will be held December 13 at 6:30pm in the meeting room at Culver's.
