Equity to Honor Veterans on Thursday

Effingham American Legion Post 120 will conduct a flag raising and dedication ceremony Thursday morning at The Equity in Effingham to honor the American flag and Veterans of foreign war. The Equity invites all Veterans and community members to attend in support of these services as they join together to celebrate the sacrifices made for our great country and our nation’s symbol of freedom.

Betty Zerrusen will be present to sing a live rendition of the National Anthem. Representing Veterans of World War 2, Korean War, Vietnam War, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom will be present during the ceremony. All military personnel past, present, and future are encouraged to attend along with their friends and family. Effingham County Sheriff Dave Mahon will be attending the event as well.

At conclusion of the ceremony there will be coffee and cake available. The ceremony will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. The Equity corporate headquarters is located at 201 West Roadway Avenue Effingham, IL 62401. For further details call 217-342-4101.
