Effingham Community Veterans Day Observance Wednesday

The annual Veterans Day observance sponsored by local service agencies will take place on Wednesday.

The ceremony will begin at 10:30am on the lawn of the County Courthouse Museum, and is sponsored this year by Effingham American Legion Post #120.

Post Commander Dennis Brown will give the welcome and Post Chaplain Lou Buennemeyer will offer the invocation. The American flag will be raised as Julie and Pat Zuber lead in the singing of the National Anthem. Sergeant Major RET Don Huskey will serve as guest speaker. 

Chaplain Buennemeyer will deliver the benediction, a salute to veterans is planned, and Alex Jeffries will perform "Taps".

A lunch will be hosted at the Legion Post at their Post Home downtown on Washington Avenue following the ceremony.
