Collection dates and times have been announced for Operation Christmas Child for 2015.

Operation Christmas Child is an effort overseen by Samaritan's Purse, the international relief agency headed by Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham. This effort is unique in that it involves people packing a shoebox with toys, hygiene items, books, coloring books, and other items. The shoeboxes are then shipped by Operation Christmas Child to locations around the world for distribution to children.

Local organizer Pat Berry said 21,135 shoeboxes were collected locally last year, and said they're hoping for more this year.

Collection times are as follows: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 16, 17 and 18 from 9-11am...Thursday and Friday, November 19-20 from 5:30-7:30pm...Saturday, November 21 from 9-11am...Sunday, November 22 from 2-5pm...and Monday, November 23 from 9am-8pm.

The collection center again this year is Cornerstone Christian Church, 3600 S. Banker, Effingham.
