Effingham Man Arrested Over Weekend on Drug Charges

An Effingham man was arrested over the weekend on drug charges.

Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler Monday said Effingham City Police arrested Nicholas Fizer. The 33-year-old Fizer has been charged with two counts of methamphetamine delivery. The counts stem from alleged deliveries of a substance containing meth to a confidential source on both Thursday and Friday. Fizer was also charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine.

The delivery counts are Class 2 felonies, punishable by up to three to seven years in prison, while the possession count is a Class 3 felony, punishable by up to two to five years in prison.

In court Monday, bond for Fizer was set at $75,000. Effingham County Public Defender Scott Schmidt will represent Fizer, who will make his first apperarance with his attorney on Thursday.
