Three vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash south of Teutopolis Monday morning.

The crash happened at 7am on Illinois Route 33, a quarter-mile east of the Teutopolis-Elliotstown Road. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports all three units were eastbound. A vehicle driven by 20-year-old Jennifer Holman of Teutopolis slowed to turn left into a private drive and a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Vanessa Walker of Effingham slowed behind the Holman unit. Deputies say a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Anthony Zerrusen of Effingham failed to reduce speed and struck the Walker vehicle, which caused the Walker vehicle to rear-end the Holman unit.

Walker was injured in the crash and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Zerrusen was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
