Effingham resident Trina Rothrock has pleaded guilty to a charge stemming from the theft of money from Little Lambs Early Childhood Center.

The 37-year-old Rothrock pleaded guilty Monday to a Class 4 felony count of unlawful possession of a credit or debit card. Other counts of theft and forgery, along with use of an account number with intent to defraud, were dismissed as part of the negotiated plea.

An Effingham County grand jury indicted Rothrock in July of 2014, alleging that Rothrock stole between $10,000 and $100,000 from Little Lambs between February 15, 2012 and May 7, 2014. It was alleged that Rothrock used a Little Lambs credit card to purchase items online between December 2013 and May 2014, and a forgery count alleged that Rothrock passed a check on the Little Lambs account in February of 2014. She also faces a misdemeanor count of theft of services for utilizing discounted day care services at Little Lambs for which she never paid.

Rothrock was working in a bookkeeping position at Little Lambs when the offenses are alleged to have occurred.

Rothrock was placed on 30 months' probation and must pay court costs, and must make restitution of $30,000.
