Effingham water officials are bleeding some water lines in an effort to get rid of the funky tasting water found in parts of the city Thursday.

Hydrants were opened along Keller Drive in the area of several restaurants on the northwest side, in front of Niemerg's Steak House on West Fayette, across from Martin's Midtown Fuels on West Jefferson, the areas where the unusual tasting water was detected.

City officials remind that the water is safe to use and drink.
