The 2015 Effingham County Old Settlers Reunion will be held this Saturday.

Activities are planned from 11am to 3pm on the lawn of the Effingham County Courthouse Museum, and is sponsored by the Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association in conjunction with the Effingham Farmer's Market.

The Farmer's Market will take place as usual from 8am to noon. Other events will include historical displays and historical re-enactors, tractors from the Millroad Thresherman's Association, the Caledonia fire engine that was used to battle the 1949 St. Anthony Hospital fire, free face painting, free mule wagon rides, free photos at the historic cannon, and music at the gazebo. The first floor of the Courthouse Museum will be open.

Anyone who attends who is a current resident of Effingham County who has been a resident here for 30 years or more qualifies as an Old Settler. You're encouraged to sign up for an Old Settler's ribbon. Prizes will be awarded for Oldest Settler Man and Woman, Youngest Settler Man and Woman, and Longest-Married Old Settler Couple. Sign-up for the competition by 1:30pm; awards will be presented at 2pm.

Take along your lawn chairs!
