A question as to whether the St. Elmo and Brownstown school districts should consolidate will not appear on the March 2016 election ballot.

The deadline to file a question on the March ballot has passed. St. Elmo Superintendent Deb Philpot and Brownstown Superintendent Adam Bussard released a joint message that petitions were not filed last week that would have asked for the question to be placed on the March ballot. The statement read that "as the timeline...has passed, the Committee of Ten is still moving forward in an effort to meet the requirements of filing a petition for an upcoming election."

The Committee of Ten is next scheduled to meet on October 7.
