Effingham city police investigated a crash that started on Keller Drive at Avenue of Mid-America and ended several blocks to the south.

The incident occurred at 9:30pm when a vehicle driven by 33-year-old April Fleshner of Effingham left the roadway and struck and damaged an IDOT traffic signal pole. Debris from the traffic signal struck and damaged a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Marty Coates of Effingham.

Fleshner's vehicle then struck and damaged a parked vehicle owned by Esperanza Escobar-Espinoza of Effingham, as well as a lighted sign owned by Steak n Shake.

Police say Fleshner's vehicle then got back onto southbound Keller Drive and continued until the vehicle became disabled on the interstate overpass.

No one was injured. Police cited Fleshner on counts of driving while her license is suspended and improper lane usage.
