Altamont native Nick Wurl is due in court in November for a possible change of plea.

The 25-year-old Wurl, who lives in Chicago, has been assigned a court date of November 10 for the possible change of plea.

Wurl is charged with making false representations about the nature of his company's business that allegedly led to fraudulently obtaining more than $9 million from approximately 50 investors. The efforts allegedly led to a loss to investors of approximately $4 million. Wurl faces up to 20 years in prison and the forfeiture of the $9 million, as well as fines.

During a hearing Wednesday, attorneys from the US District Attorney's Office for Illinois' Northern District reported they have provided discovery to Wurl's attorney and that both parties have requested the change of plea date.

No trial date for Wurl has been scheduled.
