Firefly Grill Will Remain Closed Today; Re-Open Tuesday

Firefly Grill in Effingham will remain closed today, but will re-open at 11am Tuesday.

A fire was noticed about 11am Sunday in a hood in the kitchen of the restaurant, located on Avenue of Mid-America. Co-owner Kristie Campbell said an employee who is a firefighter and a customer who is a firefighter helped immediately and Effingham Fire Department firefighters took over from there.

Effingham Fire Chief Joe Holomy said the fire spread up into the upper areas of the restaurant, so they had to cut into an exterior wall to gain access.

No one was injured.
