Three Injured, Two Arrested Due to Fayette County Crash

Three members of a York, Pennsylvania family were injured and two were arrested due to a crash in Fayette County Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened at 3:15pm on I-70 eastbound, four miles west of Vandalia. Illinois State Police report a SUV driven by 53-year-old Bryan Giannini of York ran off the roadway and into the center median. The vehicle then came back onto the eastbound lanes and rolled over on its passenger side. The SUV was then struck by a semi driven by 40-year-old Jeremy Jackson of Springfield, Missouri.

Bryan Giannini, 53-year-old Anna Peirce Giannini, and a juvenile from the Giannini family were all injured and were taken to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia for treatment. Jackson was not injured.

State police arrested Bryan and Anna Peirce Giannini, Bryan for improper lane usage, and both for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
