No Foul Play Involved in Shumway Man's Death

No foul play was involved in the Monday night death of a Shumway man.
60-year-old Linus G. Koester was found at his home. Effingham County Sheriff's Department notified the Effingham County Coroner's Office at 8:40pm Monday regarding a deceased man in Shumway. Effingham County Deputy Coroner Gerry Kingery pronounced Koester dead at 9:10pm.
Shumway firefighters assisted the sheriff's department and the coroner's office at the scene.
An autopsy is not scheduled to be performed.
